Breastfeeding?

I am a first time mom and My baby is 2 weeks old and I’m tired of breastfeeding. Its exhausting having to get up every 2/3 hours having to pump and its so painful. I enjoy the one on one with my baby and i know how beneficial my milk is to my baby but i am exhausted. I want to keep going but then feel like a bad mom if i don’t. Help?!?!

It is so so worth it, but your mental health is important too. Either way, your baby will be fed and healthy.

Once you get 4-6 weeks in its not as bad but breastfeeding isnt for everyone. I never thought itd be for me so I never even tried with my 1st. I tried with my 2nd and besides the 1st 2 months i loved it so ive ebf 4/5 and will do the same for #6. 
You cannot tell a diff in my formula fed baby or my breastfed ones so dont feel bad if you switch. 
Mamas sanity is much more important than whether is breast fed or formula fed.

I lasted 2ish months bc of similar reasons...i wasnt lactating much im on the smaller side but still its exhausted and not a lot of women talk about it. So i also felt like a bad mom for stopping rather soon. But my emotions and mental health were all over the place and suffering internally... also my son is 10.5 months and is thriving on formula !!! I get the same connections when i feed him, you have to put your well being first when it comes to this. Bc if your not happy babys not happy

When I had my first, I too was pumping every 2-3 hours and feeding on demand. It ended up causing a huge oversupply for me and chronic clogged ducts. This time around, I only pumped to relieve engorgment and I still have a slight over supply but am able to really only pump in the morning and at night (baby is currently 6 weeks). I didn’t know you could not pump the first few weeks! Just sharing what I have done. Mentally, breastfeeding is a lot so do what you feel you need to. A friend of mine put it “when you look at a football team on the field, you can’t tell who is formula or breastfed” do what you need to do

I found it very exhausting and taxing on various levels. Once I stopped, I felt so much more free and we were all happier.

You absolutely do not need to continue breastfeeding if you don't want to.

I would keep trying until like 6 weeks, there really is this awful hump to get over and it gets better. Once you get over the hump then decide!

If that baby is a happy baby no matter what don't put pressure on yourself if you don't feel like it breastfeeding

Are you exclusively pumping? Or is there some reason you have to pump every time baby feeds? We tried that for a bit and I hated it. Switched to EBF, no pumping or formula or anything and it was world changing. For me personally, formula added so much extra to my plate(dishes, time to get the bottle ready) that I preferred breastfeeding. But I hate pumping (again, dishes)

I felt like this after the first 2 days of breastfeeding. I had a c-section and when I got home I was exhausted!! I tried to get through that first night breastfeeding my daughter, but I was in so much pain and in tears, I asked my partner to formula feed her through the night so I could get some sleep. In the morning I was so angry at myself! Kept thinking, *why didn't I just persevere* I felt like a failure. Of course I wasn't, I just needed that rest otherwise I wouldn't have been any good to anybody! But my hormones disagreed and I was so upset with myself! My partner encouraged me to give breastfeeding another go, and now my daughter is 5 months old and is still on the breast :) it gets easier and easier and im so glad I gave it another go! Bur you can only do whats best for you! Theres no right or wrong answer, as long as your baby is fed and full x
