Breastfeeding weening?

If I just never ween and let him eat when he wants will he eventually stop by himself or will I eventually have to ween? He is 2 and I don’t want to tell him he can’t have milk if he wants it, I don’t see a problem but others think that he should have been weened by now.

Yes, every kid will eventually stop. But the question is, if you wanna keep on breastfeeding that long. The "natural" weaning time for babies is 2-7 years old but majority of toddlers will wean between 2 and 4 years old. So yes, eventually he will stop, but it's impossible to say for sure when, and it's up to you if you are still comfortable with breastfeeding until he chooses not to.
If you and your kid still find joy in breastfeeding, try not to let other people's opinions affect your decision. I know it's easier said than done, but no one else has a say in what you find best for your baby. 💛 Breastfeeding has a lot of benefits even after the one-year-mark.
My daughter is 2 years and 2 months and I'm still breastfeeding. 😍 Just got pregnant with my second baby and I plan to breastfeed throughout the pregnancy if she wants to.

It all depends. Some kids have to be weened and for others they can naturally ween themselves. I decided to begin my very sleep weaning process at 12 months. My daughter is almost 16 months and is still BF, but only to go to sleep and when she wakes up. When she turns 18 months, I plan to stop nursing her. One thing I will say is that you should do what’s best for you and baby. The idea of weaning was harder than the actual weaning. My daughter is responding well and she asks me for it still, but responds well when I tell her “milkies is only for night night time.” So again, do what’s best for your situation.
