Home birth??

Just curious, is anyone in this group planning a home birth?? Or a natural birth? I had an induction at the hospital with my first baby, but I’m looking into having a home birth this time and was just wondering if anyone else was doing the same!!

I want a home birth but my husband wants me to go to the hospital. Either way I’m planning an unmediated minimal intervention birth and will be using a midwife regardless of where I deliver.

Yes! Me! I had my first at a birthing center, loved it so much that I’m planning a home birth with a team of midwives who specialize in home births. I definitely encourage you to follow your heart, if you feel like you’d be most comfortable and safe having a home birth go for it. And the same goes for if you feel more comfortable with a birthing center; hospital; etc

I’ve had 2 unmedicated hospital births and planning the same though I labored most of the time at home with second baby and also planning to stay home as long as possible with this one too. I loooooove laboring in the bath tub. I wish so hard I could just have a water birth at home! But alas it would cost me SO much more money than going to our hospital since I work for the company that owns it. 😭 last time I got there at 8cm and had her 1.5 hours later. Hoping to wait a bit longer this time and basically just push her out there but it’s kinda hard to time 😂. I’ve never even been able to keep my gown on and end up delivering naked so don’t know how I’m going to keep a mask on my face while pushing.

I was seriously considering it but the company that supplies home birth midwives here doesn’t take my insurance. Although now I’m moving and will legit a mile at most away from the hospital, so now I’m trying to convince my husband to let me walk there once labor is progressing to help things along.

I had my first at home and it was the most incredible thing in the world! I’m planning my second home birth with this baby as well. I LOVE my midwife and the care I get from her is so personal and amazing. If you haven’t, watch the documentary The Business is Being Born. It’s really eye opening and it’s one of the things that solidified our decision! Good luck, mama!
