Help... Tell me it gets better?

Emz

We got a working cocker spaniel puppy in June last year to join our other older dog.

I love him to absolute pieces but my god is he hard work. I do a lot of training with him he's been to puppy classes and I am currently studying dog behaviour but just want some advice as really he's my first puppy. Our other dogs were puppies when I was young too so I didn't really have a lot to do with them as puppies.

My lovely older dog always loved cuddles but doesn't try to get them now because he then won't leave her alone.

I guess I'm just feeling a little downtrodden as they aren't getting along as well as I had hoped and he's a lot harder work than I imagined. Neither of them are going anywhere so I wanted some advice from others that have had workers before and whether it's a 'just hang in there' situation or not.

I know lockdown has been a pain for people getting puppies on a whim and then don't know what to do with them but we've had dogs since before I was born and we really thought everything through and to us and our circumstances it was the perfect time to get a puppy. I'm a dog walker too so he's likely to spend a lot of the day with me for his entire life and get plenty of exercise. Also will be going to agility and flyball club when he's old enough.

Just wondered if I could ask you lovely people for some advice if you've had working cockers before 👍

Thanks (photo of my two for cuteness)
