Monday morning was difficult for me. I had recorded a call from my dad stating my grandfather has passed away peacefully at home. I left work and has gone to l&d for observation due to contractions and just not feeling right. At L&D they do all the test and and ultrasound... ultrasound confirmed low levels of fluid. I was admitted for over night fluids and recheck in Am.. my recheck showed we increased the fluid levels but I was leaking. Test came back positive for amniotic fluid. I recorded 24 hours of antibiotics, an additional 2 rounds of steroids. Tuesday evening they administer cervidyl to start dilation as I was not going anywhere! I woke up at 6 am at 3 cm and actively contracting.. was started on pitocin I made it an hour and needed the epidural due to pain... at this point I was a 4cm.. the pit would cause babies heart rate to drop through out the da and I stopped dilating at a 5. Around 430pm I noticed the pains were breaking through my epidural I was checked around 530 and only at 7cm given a bolus of the epidural as this was happening I felt the urge to push!!! I wake them to 10cm in 2 contractions. Push time!! 6:05 my baby boy arrived at 36 and 3! He latched very well only concern was his glucose levels were below 50. Now fast fed to today... we are home we are so far happy healthy and no concerns... I can not believe he is here!!
