Maternity clothes?!

So when did everyone start wearing maternity clothes?! I’m only 6w and my regular clothes still fit like normal but I’m excited to buy a maternity outfit or two for the summer! Just curious as to when people actually start needing to wear them as opposed to just a baggy shirt!

I'm in my third trimester and I still have not bought any maternity shirts, a lot of shirts and dresses I already own are stretchy, and I sometimes wear my fiance's shirts. 
I bought maternity pants I never use in my second trimester. And two pairs of maternity leggings I use all the time. 
I would suggest just swinging by Goodwill, they have a lot of maternity stuff for cheap. Especially considering you will only really need to wear it for a short amount of time

I had to start wearing them at 12 weeks.  I could no longer pull my regular jeans up past my thighs.

There is no right or wrong time to buy them but I started wearing them around 15 weeks

I bought a few shirts, literally 2 shirts, at like 25 weeks. I didn't really need them at all because I wear really baggy shirts anyways but I wanted some that showed it off more. I refused to give up my flared corduroys so I just did the hair tie trick to keep wearing those the whole time. And I did buy like fold over top yoga style pants for the days I wanted looser bottoms.
