How do you discipline a 2 year old?

Guys I’m at my wits end lately. My son just hits and screams and kicks and I’m losing my mind. Yelling doesn’t work, time outs don’t work, getting in his level and talking to him doesn’t work, redirection doesn’t work. NOTHING works. I’m tired. I’m emotional. I’m exhausted. What do you guys do that works? I’m losing my mind.

yep just literally ignoring it. it takes a little bit but they eventually quit once they see no reaction

Janet Lansbury! She has podcast and books. Literally listening to her on pod cast and implementing even the way she says things has been a god send. My son still has days that are difficult but she puts into light what is happening in their brains and it's so much easier to ignore, not take personally, set boundaries and just let it wash over you instead of building in you. Her podcast episodes are short and she even gives you the phrases to use which was so helpful for me! I hope you find what your looking for. Good luck!

My son was like this for a while. He’ll be two in a month. I had no choice but to put him down/leave him alone and ignore him and just let him throw his fit alone. He still throws a fit of course, but he doesn’t hit or kick anymore. He’ll still scream once and then whine. But i explain to him that i understand he’s frustrated or upset but this is why I did “xyz” and ask him to take a breath with me. It usually calms him down enough to move on with our day. He also isn’t fully talking just yet either which makes it difficult to communicate sometimes.

If its extreme talk to his doctor my nephew was nonstop kicking and screaming when he didn't get his way, like fill on tantrums In the middle of the store, he got some play therapy and speech therapy since he couldn't let his needs know he'd get mad,  ultimately time out and no electronics as punishment did the trick. He does really well with learning with electronics
