Thinking ahead to baby shower, yes or no??

Question

Ok so I still have a lot of time, I have a 3yr old little girl and we found out I’m having another girl. Do I do a baby shower for this one? I mean I kinda want one but I just don’t even know what the standards are anymore! 
I’ve already stated registry’s and live the idea of doing a shower but would it be strange to do one?

You can have a sprinkle.  Even if it’s second baby and same gender there’s always things that you need and you deserve to celebrate this one just as much as the first

Hm... my answer is yes but I think you should do one if you want one We usually do sprinkles for my friends’ second baby if it is the opposite gender but have never been to or heard of someone having a second shower. I had a girl first and now having a boy so I will have a small sprinkle, which is much more relaxed than a shower, this summer. Thinking maybe coed.

Where I’m from it’s tacky to have a second baby shower unless I think they are very far apart in age like 10 y or so. I think sprinkles are common with no registry bc it’s just a celebration, not really asking people who just bought you things to buy more

I have a boy and I didn’t have a baby shower with him due to COVID last year. So I definitely plan on having one for this baby regardless of the gender. It’s entirely up to you if you feel you need a bunch of baby stuff for this one or you just feel like celebrating the baby then go for it!

I say do it. Every baby deserves to be celebrated. I had a shower for my first who was a boy then got pregnant again and it was a girl so I had another shower. Then 10 years later I got pregnant with another boy and since it was my husband's first baby I threw him a baby shower and then we got pregnant again two years later and it was a girl so we had a diaper keg cook out. People brought diapers and a few little gifts. Now for baby 5 its a boy and were just doing a diaper keg. We don't really care if people bring gifts its more just to celebrate the life getting ready. We did think about a welcome party for the baby after he is here but with covid and other illness around that time we have decided against it. People will be lucky to meet this one in the first few months.

My family only does baby showers for the first baby....
I did get a small one with my second because my husband's family felt left out from the first.
My third, I did not get one.
For this one, I was planning a pot luck picnic at a local campground after the baby is born as a come meet the newest member of the family.  Won't expect gifts but it would be nice to have people come and hang out

I know a girl that had kids two years in a row both boys and she had a shower then a sprinkle for her second boy. I went and gave her just gift card to get what she needed like diapers. Probably just a sprinkle like ask for just diapers, wipes or gift cards and essential things. Obviously people can get whatever they want for the baby if they choose.

My sister in-law had a baby shower for both of my nephew's when she was pregnant, so why not have a baby shower for this little angel.  Furthermore there might be new product that are more suitable for the baby instead of outdated ones that can possibly be more harmful.

I have a 16 M girl and this one is a girl. I won't be having a shower this time.
