What do y’all think?

I’m going to admit.... I may be a helicopter mom 😬
My son will only be two next month and I haven’t felt comfortable letting him spend the night at either of his grandparents house. He’s been with my husband and I every night. My husband parents live like 10 minutes down the road. My mom whom I’m very close with lives in the next state over (about 4 hours away) she’s been BEGGING me to let him come spend a weekend especially this summer. I trust her completely. But I’m not sure I can. I haven’t even let him stay with this other grandparents who live basically next to us 🤦🏻‍♀️ I really don’t want to hurt her feelings. I just don’t think I can let him yet. I would have so much anxiety. What age did you guys start letting your kids do this sort of thing? My husband is asking for a date night where we can have the entire night to ourselves and let his mom keep him but idk about that either. Please no harsh comments. He’s my only child and I’m just not ready to spend a night away from him

My daughter is 16 months and all grandparents are close and I don’t see any sleepovers anytime soon. I trust them but I just don’t like the idea and probably won’t happen tell she’s like 5 ahah

My parents literally live next door to us yet i won't let our 3 year old sleep there because I'm not ready

My son is 17 months old and he’s stayed the night with my in-laws probably 7 times so far. I love them, I trust them, they respect my parenting, and it’s nice to get some extra sleep because he’s up at 7 most mornings. He was 2 months old the first time he spent the night away but that’s because my husband and I are youth leaders and we went on an all-night we trip with our youth group. 
I currently have 3 month old and she’s gonna stay with us a while longer. But I will tell you, the sooner I did it with my son, the easier it was every time afterwards! It allows for such a special bond to develop between him and his grandparents and I absolutely love that they share that type of relationship. Plus, it’s great for my hubby and I! Kid free sex is the BOMB! 🤩

I have a 4 year old, a 2 year old, and a 9 month old. Literally the only times my children have stayed over night with anyone (my mom) have been when I was in labor with one of the others. And I don't let anyone babysit my kids either. I'd miss them too much. Plus my middle one is autistic and has to be watched like a freaking hawk! Everyone is super understanding about it, though. I have recently started letting my dad pick my 4 year old up and take him to my parents for a couple of hours to play with my niece when I am too busy to take him. But it is going to be a long time before I feel comfortable letting them stay the night anywhere.

My daughter is 3.5 and the only time she has spent the night away from us is when we were at the hospital having her brother, and my mom stayed at our house for one night and my husband actually left me and the baby early because we wanted her to have one of her parents home before the baby came home. Otherwise we wouldn’t have been away at all. I trust my family and my in laws but I just think sleepovers are unnecessary and neither my husband or I have any desire to be away from her for the night. They’ve babysat for us, just not overnight.

3-4 months with my first and then with my second. A couple nights at first then when my first was 6 months, a week with my parents. 
I am not a helicopter parent and even though I missed them dearly, I got a lot of things done around the house. My parents and in laws update me constantly.

It’s a totally personal decision! My baby is a year and he has stayed twice overnight with my parents for one nights only and they live close and obviously trust them fully but zero judgement if you’re not ready. Could you do maybe like them babysit for a few hours while you and husband go out? My only word of caution is that it is really important for you guys to spend some quality alone time together. I totally get it I hate being away from by baby too. Are you having any sort of anxiety that might not be at a normal level? Everyone is different but my friend refused to let anyone help and her marriage really suffered because they didn’t have a date night for 3 years.

I feel the same as you. I trust my parents 100% but wouldn’t not feel right with my son sleeping anywhere but home in his crib. Where I can hear and see him. I think when he’s like 4-5 I might let him do sleepovers but only if he wants to. I just don’t see the point in babies sleeping over anywhere but home. 
I wouldn’t really want him sleeping over at my in laws at all so I’m probably not going to allow it on either sides just to avoid hurt feelings.

My in laws live 5 minutes away and my parents 20 minutes. With my oldest, he first did an overnight at 13m when we went on vacation for 5 days(baby moon). He did a 1 night sleepover at 17 or 18m as a trial run now that he was out of the crib for when his sister was born. He spent basically a week and a half at my in laws when his sister was born, he was 18m. At 23m my dad took him to the beach for a week and then we went down to meet them. He'll be 2.5 in May and is doing his first sleepover at my parents house (2 nights) this weekend. My youngest is 10m and still breastfeeding at night, so she'll be staying with us for the foreseeable future. Hoping she can have an auntie sleepover this summer.
