Brushing toddlers teeth is a nightmare..

My son is 19 months old and ever since he turned about 15 months it’s been an absolute screaming crying fight with him to brush his teeth. Like tonight I literally had to hold him down to even somewhat get the job done after him crying and flopping all over in my arms for 20 minutes. Which I hate because I feel bad doing that, but it has to be done. I’ve tried getting fun toothbrushes, having him brush his teeth with me, letting him do it, and the only thing that worked for about 2 weeks was letting him do it while watching something on my phone. Now he’s over that and it’s back to square one. I need other ideas please. 🥺
