Suggestions please!
Hi! FTM here and would love some others opinions as I’m freaking out..
My very first ultrasound in august I measured 6 weeks (even tho my date according to cycle was 8 weeks). Then every single ultrasound since then has put me 2-2.5 weeks ahead.. they never changed my due date and said the first ultrasound is more accurate. As of today I am 37 weeks 4 days; but ultrasounds and sizes put me at about 40 weeks.
At my 20, 34 & 36 week ultrasound with the specialist, I measured 2.5 weeks ahead as usual and at my 36 week appt baby was in the 90th percentile and 8.3 lbs. specialist said likely not an error since so much consistency. He suggested delivering the baby at 39 weeks as he will be approaching 10lbs that week. Unfortunately I don’t have anymore appts with the specialist.
This info was relayed back to my OBGYN and I opted to schedule an elective c section, which my OBGYN agreed to do at 39 weeks.
However when I went to schedule with the receptionist, the earliest appt they gave me was for 39 weeks 6 days... basically putting me at 40 weeks (or 42 if my due date is wrong). I asked for an earlier appt begging basically as I don’t want to go that close to (or over) due date and have emergency c section and they have been extremely rude, sighing, making me feel like a pain for even asking and ultimately said no that’s all they have available.
Has anyone else had a c section scheduled that close to their due date? Or measuring ahead for 8 months consistently and didn’t deliver early?
Since it’s likely I’ll go into labor before the appt, how smooth of a procedure will it be?!
Feeling very frustrated and just looking for some others thoughts..
PS I don’t need persuaded on why vaginal over c section I’ve already done my research and made that decision !
