My dad told me the other night that I have nothing going for me. I don’t understand how he could even think that, let alone say that to me. I’ve travelled the world, have my flight attendant diploma, own 2 small businesses, have 3 sources of income, and am currently in university pursuing a business diploma. I asked him what ‘success’ would look like to him and he wasn’t able to give me a clear answer but vaguely referred to having a post secondary degree.

Between that and him saying ‘depression is a result of not being grateful enough’ in a separate conversation, I’m sure if I ever get married I do NOT want him walking me down the aisle. Maybe I’m overreacting, maybe not, I just can not tolerate that.
