Is he interested or is it just the alcohol

So there’s a guy who has mutual friends with my ex partner and I’ve known him (not a lot of interaction because of a jealous ex) for a few years now. He is a very quiet and shy guy in the group of friends he has, and when it comes to girls especially. We have hooked up before a year ago, then we remained friends and acted normal afterwards, but the last few times I’ve seen him out I’ve noticed signs he might be interested in me, again? But seeing him on a night out is the only time we see each other. He has sneaky glares at me throughout the night, sometimes he looks away once I notice but other times he will continue staring at me, if he isn’t too intoxicated he is quiet & stares, still acts shy but we have conversations. When he has been courage from the liquor, he will wrap his arms around me, make it known he’s happy to see me by singling me out to talk in a group, asks me to leave with him, interrupt other guys trying to talk to me when I made it obvious I’m not interested in. I’ve never seen him leave with another girl, I know he has a few times over the years but never when I’m out, he will either try to leave with me or if he’s too shy he’ll leave on his own and go home. Our mutual friends have noticed the staring and the arms around me the times he has, I’m just not sure what to think since I don’t see him around any other times and we’re both too shy to add or ask the other because it only happens when we drink and my ex and their group of friends is another reason why it’s not as easy. Sorry y’all I am left with an over thinking mind and just needed to vent 😂
