Are you putting a TV in your nursery?

I don’t think it’s necessary but hubs is adamant that they need to be able to watch cartoons (UGH MEN) like why does a newborn need cartoons 🙄 lol. He’s ordering a 50in as we speak & well I’m just wondering who all is getting a TV for the nursery? Would it be a safety risk if we didn’t mount it to the wall? Ugh 🤦🏻‍♀️ Love him to pieces but he’s totally messing up my wall decor plans & room set up lol!

Um no. Cartoons would be when they are older I'd think- not a newborn- and also wouldn't they watch it in a room closer to where you can do other stuff like while you're cooking etc while it's a newborn you might wanna watch TV and veg out sometimes but I'd rather do that on my comfy couch in the living room not on the chair in the nursery. It seems like an excuse to get another TV tbh and once he sees it isn't used/useful he will move it into another room. OR he truly doesn't understand how the reality of a newborn will be. Lol do you have some friends that can talk to him about if they had a TV in their nursery and if they did how often was it used etc?

Get a Google home mini - can play music, books, white noise, rain sound. And YES a TV in a nursery will definitely be a safety hazard if not secured properly once baby becomes mobile.

Nope! We just graduated to having a tv in our own room recently 😂 kiddos can have one when they are older OR (not and) we will have another tv in a rec room.

A baby doesn’t need a tv. I wouldn’t even thinking about having a tv in my child’s room until they were in high school tbh. It’s unnecessary imo

Works as a sound machine, radio, music player and story player. Screen free. Also has a nightlight function, and works as a grow clock.
Best part is, when babe is a little older they can use it independently.
Do some research and show your husband why screens are detrimental to young children’s development. They’re terrible for healthy sleep also.

TV isn’t recommend till a child is 2 so I think it’s unnecessary. I definitely have let my kids watch cartoons before 2 but for like 10 mins a day. It can stunt their language development if they watch too much TV.

No. I’m against children having TVs in their room until they are teenagers. Bedroom is for sleeping, not playing. This could also create a big issue with getting child to fall asleep and also when They move up to a toddler bed (getting out of bed to turn tv on). I just keep some decor and books in my daughters room but her playroom has a tv. Same will be for baby #2.

I have an iPad to stream that I’ll bring into the nursery with me if I feel like I’m gonna be in there awhile. There’s no reason to put a TV in there 🤔
