Ultrasound CD3

This month is our fertility testing at a fertility clinic since we been trying for 2 years. I went to the doctor's on what they said was cycle day 3 and got an ultrasound. The left ovary had 20 follicles and the right had 18. The lady said they are really small. That's all they told me. Does that mean I might have PCOS? I'm 28 years old and have irregular periods. When I looked online it seemed higher than normal. I tried to ask her questions but she said I have to wait til I see my doctor on may 4th to ask him questions. Has anyone had that many follicles and had PCOS? Or might it mean something else? I'm on Cd7 now and pretty sure I'm at the end of my period but I been having some dull cramping on the left side all day.
