Need help!!

So my boyfriend just told me that he doesn’t want to be no where around my best friend of 16 years, and that hurts me. I’ve never had to deal with a situation like this. He tells me that his reason is because she is so “loud”, tbh she is just a friendly person who tends to be the life of the party. The sad part is she is like a sister to me and we do almost everything together. We plan to do double dates, and my boyfriend doesn’t want to come near her. What the hell am I supposed to do? I really do not like to feel tension, especially with people I spend everyday with. And I’m wondering if him doing that is coming from a place of control or toxicity.
