Are we responsible for other peoples trash?
We got this today from the office and tomorrow my boyfriend is calling the front office to ask about it. We live in low income housing in Louisiana. We were told in the beginning we are expected to keep the house clean and tidy (the area is kinda like a duplex I would say, not normal apartments)
We have never been reminded to keep our area clean, like it states in the letter.
Due to his disability and mental health he rarely leaves the house or goes outside except for his monthly doctor's appointment. I have been unemployed since mid January, I also never go outside except to take out the trash. The only time I leave the house is to get groceries. We don't have a car so people always use our parking spot, we don't mind. We are very quiet, clean, people. Everyone is has crazy loud children that they don't control and the people in our little corner party 2-3 days a week and get very loud. Do we complain? No. No one around here would complain or call the cops about anything so if we did everyone would basically know it was us and then we would be targeted. Cars drive by with music and bass so loud it shakes the windows, children scream, couples scream at each other, and even one time a fight broke out
We live in a small town and will likely not be able to move until August 2022. I don't think we should be responsible for other's trash. They leave it under our windows and in our 'yard' and by our door. We don't drink or party and there's always shit everywhere.
