Tried bonding with my son.... Didn't work out

I've been wanting to spend more time with my son but he's in his moody teen years. He mainly plays video games and makes Tiktoks. I decided to look at Tiktok and it looked fun. I asked him about Tiktok when today and he asked why I'm asking and I said I made an account and maybe we can make a tiktok together. I wanted to try to get into his interest. He just gave me a horrified look and said "Thx mom" I said for what and he said "For taking something I like and making it horrible ". Then he walked away and went to his room. I guess he's finally at the age he doesn't need or want to be around me anymore.
