When did you swap from a crib to a bed?

My daughter will be almost two when her baby brother or sister will be here. And I was wondering when y’all swapped your kids into a bigger bed from the crib and what type of bed do y’all recommend.    I don’t want to swap her two early but I would like to swap her before the baby is born (isn’t until nov) but just trying to figure it all out.

At 18 months we put him in a double bed. Have issues every once and a while but in general hasn’t been impossible. Big tip is fully sleep train first

I converted her crib to a toddler bed a couple weeks before her 2nd bday but it was only until we got her twin bed delivered. Once her twin arrived we put her in that and she’s done great ever since.

My daughter doesn’t try to climb out or anything at the moment when she gets up she doesn’t even cry she just sits patiently waiting until we go and take her out she plays with her blanket and stuffed animals to entertain herself.

We transitioned to a twin mattress on the floor when my daughter was a year and a half. She had started climbing out of her crib though.

We went to a toddler sized bed around 22 months. And then to a twin at 2.5 years. 
I wanted to keep him in a crib for as long as possible as he wasn’t climbing out. But bed time was becoming nightmarish. 
My husband got this feeling that he wanted to “be a big boy.” One night we just asked him why he didn’t want to sleep in his crib and why he cried and he said he wanted a bed like in the office (twin day bed). So we converted his crib to a day bed style but smaller and he was happy and no more struggles at bed time. 
He’s also never gotten out of bed! He just lays in it and plays with his stuffies if he isn’t tired yet.
