Worried, no fetal pole at 6 weeks. Help!

Sarah

I had my first transvaginal US yesterday. According to my LMP I’m around six weeks pregnant, but I’m honestly not sure. My periods move around and according to my methods of tracking ovulation, I haven’t been at all. My husband and I have been TTC since August with no luck. Tested hormones and my progesterone was at 0.5 on March 18. Our PCP suggested to hold on TTC for three months and take progesterone supplements in the mean time. Fast forward to April and I completely missed my period. Turns out, I’m pregnant against all odds.

Our provider suggested making an OB appointment sooner rather than later since my progesterone was so low. We had that appointment yesterday and the doctor was NOT hopeful at all. He had us do a TVUS, and they saw the sac but no fetal pole. He was concerned with that and my hormones. He honestly didn’t listen at all when I tried to explain that I have odd cycles and no clue when I ovulated. He was adamant that I’m six weeks and this isn’t normal. Basically told us to prepare to miscarry.

I did bloodwork for HCG and progesterone: hcg was 1145 and progesterone was 18.1 as of this morning. I’m feeling really encouraged based on those numbers but I’m trying to be cautiously optimistic.

I’m not cramping or spotting at all. Normal pregnancy symptoms except I’m not nauseated.
