My son never used a mobile. He's still in his crib, though

Never did and not a fan of them.

I had one in her crib but never used it. I ended up taking it out for fear that she would use it as leverage to get out of her crib. She’s very tiny so that hasn’t been an issue but once she became more daring I wouldn’t have put it past her since she climbs on the damn dog cage like Tarzan.

Mobiles are distractions so I haven’t used them in the crib area.

We never used it in the crib, I feel like it’s more of a distraction. The extra stimulation of the music and movement never helped him wind down to sleep. Instead we sleep trained and he’s put himself to sleep since four months in crib with only crutch being white noise. (And sleep sack til about ten months) If it had been in there since he started standing he’d especially have just hit at it and played.
