Contractions?

Question

So I just had my 38 week apt and I’ve been dilating a cm every week since my 36 week apt so I’m at 4cm now. My doctors keep asking me if I’m feeling any contractions and I don’t think I am but I also have a really high pain tolerance , they said next week if I’m at 5 they would hook me up to see if I’m having contractions and just not feeling them. Has anyone ever dealt with anything similar?

Contractions felt like diarrhea pains for me lol. That’s the best way I could describe it. People thought I was crazy because I kept saying “not sure if it’s a contraction or if I have to poop!” Turns out I did NOT have to poop it was all contractions 😂￼

Same thing happened at my appointment and as she was measuring my fundal height she said "Olay so you are definitely having contractions, did you not feel that?" I was like...err no lol
