Can I eat it?

I LOVE spinach dip and I bought some from the store the otter day and then realized it contains egg yolk. Is it ok to eat? I have no idea if itsraw egg yolk or not....

You don't need to worry about eggs or egg yolk in anything you buy from the store. Stores don't sell things with raw egg yolk that you are meant to just open and eat, unless the eggs have been pasteurized first. Even people who aren't pregnant usually don't want to risk getting salmonella

Spinach dip is usually made with mayo which is made from egg yolk and oil.  It’s just an ingredient as part of the list. It’s not raw so you’re fine

Isnt spinach dip usually heated? Egg is cooked at 160F so as long as it says it’s pasteurized it’s fine to eat, if it doesn’t then heat it up and it’s fine.
