Would this offend you if you weren’t religious? “I will be keeping her in my prayers”

My friend’s grandmother is possibly passing away in the coming days. I spent most of my teen years with this friend and his family so I know them pretty well. They are not spiritual/religious, I am. I wanted to reach out to my friend (age 20) about the situation and to let him know I was there for him/and his fam and that I was keeping his grandmother in my thoughts (and prayers). Would writing that out (because it’s true, I am praying for her) offend someone who wasn’t spiritual? I didn’t grow up in the religious sphere and I know it wouldn’t have bothered me, but I don’t want to make it weird. Maybe I’m overthinking lol

No, leave it as is. As an Atheist myself, I may not believe in the power of prayer but if a friend does and prays for me then they clearly mean well and intention means a lot😊that being said, people react differently in times of grief and loss so if the reaction isn't great then apologise, step back and give them time.

It wouldn’t offend me but if someone I know said that to me then I would be a bit pissed off because they would know I absolutely don’t believe it anything like that 
If it was someone random I would be fine because they wouldn’t know me

I'm atheist and while it wouldn't offend me I would question how little you knew about me. But here it's generally not a phrase said, unless you are in a religious setting.

I think it would be more offensive to request they don’t say that when it’s an obvious term someone uses when they care.

i’m not religious or offended by that. it means something to them and it’s a big thing for them to do for you. just because i don’t pray or believe in prayer doesn’t mean that they can’t and they shouldn’t pray. it’s the same thing as keeping someone in your thoughts essentially to me.

I’m Christian and have a close friend whose pagan, he has made comments about asking his god to bless me in crisis the same I’d pray for him. It’s not about religion so much as Showing  I care about you and want to help in my opinion

I wouldn’t say prayers as some one whosnot religious when people have said that to me all I can do it say thanks to be nice but in my head I’m saying thanks for whispering into your hands about me that should help...
I’d rather hear I’ll keep you or them in my thoughts.
