Pillow and blanket?

Question

When does your little one start to use a pillow and/or blanket? My girl is 11 months old and I heard around 1 is when they can use a blanket but I want to hear opinions.

I’ve read to hold off on blankets until after 1 & pillows until 18 months.  That being said, I didn’t give my daughter a thin blanket until she was 18 months.  She’s 2 (26m) now and still doesn’t have a pillow.

We use a small light muslin like blanket. Except it’s the size of a dish towel and much lighter and even more breathable than muslin. I’m not sure exactly what it is but he has to snuggle with something at night or he fusses and this we found to be safest. As far as blankets go he generally sleeps in a fleece footie sleeper without a blanket or sometimes a cotton footless one with a sleep sack of some sort (we have a few). Never a large loose blanket tho. And we don’t use pillows either. We used to elevate one side of his mattress when he had reflux but I found he’d roll down weird and it just gave me anxiety so I stopped using it. If he’s napping and I’m there in the room watching him I’ll cover him up with a blanket sometimes though.

Henry has 3 blanket/stuffed animal/lovie things in his bed and a sleep sack. I haven’t thought about a blanket. Probably when he moves into a toddler bed.

My 2.5 year old still doesn’t have a pillow or blanket (she’s in a sleeping bag), and sleeps in her cot. She sleeps a perfect 11 hours a night - if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!

We didn’t do a pillow or blanket with my oldest till she went Into a toddler bed. Olivia sleeps in a zipadee so probably won’t do a blanket and pillow till she is in a toddler bed as well.

We always use a sleepsack until they move to a toddler bed and then they get a pillow and a blanket. Makes it special. But Lincoln does have a tiny lovey blanket and his stuffed sloth in his crib now :) he’s one in two weeks.

I am going to start with a wuba nub instead of a pacifier (doesn’t drop out of the crib slats as easily) and a lovey little blanket for her to sooth herself with. 
That is going to be my transition item for comfort when we take away pacifiers. I am sticking with sleep sacs for now probably until closer to 2 for pillow

We introduced a toddler pillow when our nearly three year old moved into a bed at around two. She still kicks blankets off so on cold nights she wears a 2.5-3.5TOG sleep suit over her pyjamas.
Adelaide (nearly 11 months) has a sleeping bag and no pillow. We probably won’t bother with either a blanket or pillow until she’s in a big bed.

With my son we waited until he was 2. We introduced a blanket when he transitioned out of his crib to a mattress and then a pillow shortly after. We waited because he was perfectly happy in his sleep sack and crib and didn’t want to ruin a good thing. The sleep sack kept him from climbing out. With my 2020 girl who knows! She’s not as laid back as him and will probably want out of her crib and sleep sack sooner.
