Stripping of membranes?

So I am nearly 39 weeks now and my doctor did the stripping of membranes and removed the mucus plug and said i am dilated to a 3. I'm wondering if any other moms have had this happen before with a previous pregnancy and how soon after you went into labor? I feel like I've been having contractions every 10 minutes but it's not really intense like the ones I've experienced with previous pregnancies so I'm sure i have awhile to go

I got my membranes stripped and I was 1.5 cm dilated I lost my mucus plug the next day and had a light bloody show then 3 hours later my water broke and I started contracting.
From what I’ve learned after the procedure you end up having cramps for a bit and they do go away. So if that happens it appears to be normal.
