My little man started out keeping us on our toes! I had to go in to the hospital a couples days before his due date to have a Version done to flip him because he was breech. The Version was successful-hooray! I was glad I didn't have to have a c-section. They decided it would be best if they just induced me a couple days early, then little man wouldn't get a chance to flip around again. I agreed.

After about 12hrs of cervical ripening, they were able to give me Pitocin to induce labor. The cervical ripening was one of the most uncomfortable experiences of my life! Yikes those contractions were intense! I labored for about 34hrs. I finally got to 10cm and could start pushing! PHEW! I was already exhausted because I hadn't slept or eaten in hours. I was only able to push 5 times because baby boy's HR kept dropping with each time I pushed. Turns out I'd gotten an infection after my water was broken (quite common apparently) and it was putting him in distress. They told me I could push one more time and they would use a vacuum on him or they could take me in to the OR and perform a c-section. I opted for the c-section since it seemed the better route.

So... after a successful Version I still ended up having my son by c-section on 2/21/21 (his due date).

To add to the craziness and still keeping us on our toes, at birth, my son wasn't breathing. He had the cord wrapped around his neck and had inhaled meconium when I was pushing. They had him hooked up to a CPAP machine to clear his lungs. Finally, 4 minutes later, he started breathing!! Thank the Lord!! Now we have a happy, healthy 10 week old!
