Is it possible/likely for a preterm cervix to un-dilate?

My cervix is dilated 1.5cm, soft and low at 32 weeks. I’ve lost a lot of mucus plug too. (She checked because of that) Doc is nervous and gave me steroid injections. If I’m the same or any more dilated next week, she might put me on total bed rest. Is there a chance it’ll close back up? If so, is it likely? TIA!

I wouldn’t worry too much. Just take it easy. 1.5 is not that much. I was checked at 39 weeks and was 4cm. So old when I was at 1.5? But I didn’t give birth for 3 more weeks.  I coujj KH d have been walking around dilated for even longer than that since we didn’t check sooner. You’re not completely thinned, which is good.

It will be fine plus your far enough along to have baby once hit 28 weeks so u will be fine positive vibes just bed rest as much as u can and no lifting etc

The mucous plug can rejuvenate itself. If you are dilated some I would take it easy but not worry too much as it can stay that way for awhile.

STOP GETTING YOUR CERVIX CHECKED! Cervical checks lead to infection, premature rupture of membranes and can make you dilate more.

It doesn’t need to close back up, you can stay that way for months on bed rest. My friend had cervical insufficiency and stayed on bed rest for 10wks while 2cm dilated.
