How did returning to work affect your breastfeeding/pumping?

Kristen

Hi! My baby is just under 10 weeks old and I just had my first week back at work and it has severely affected my milk production. I have been pumping for quite some time to build a freezer stash for my return and I've never had any major issues with production. I even learned that I was producing more than normal. I would normally get 8 oz per session pumping once a day, even getting 9-10 the last couple of weeks before my return to work. When I started pumping at work, I would get 5 oz per session, twice per shift, and that has now dwindled down to 2-3 oz. I'm worried because of how drastically it has dropped. This weekend, I'm focusing on feeding and pumping as often as I can to try to increase the demand, but I'm also worried because my baby has now refused my breast a few times, which she has never done before. I also want to make sure that my baby is getting enough milk when I do feed her. I'm looking for tips or tricks that could help with pumping at work and am curious about others pumping schedules. How often and long do you pump for while at work? I have a pretty flexible job and very supportive and understanding coworkers that allow me more opportunities to pump, so I'm hoping that once I get myself on a better schedule, my supply will increase. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!
