Can vaccinated people spread covid?

My parents are fully vaccinated but they were exposed by my sister on Thursday then she got severely sick on Friday with a 103 fever and cough. She never gets coughs. I'm pretty sure it's Covid but she won't get tested. My dad came to my house surprising me with goodies for Mother's day. I appreciate the gesture but afraid that he exposed me to covid especially I haven't got the vaccine.

Yes they can still spread although new data is showing the chances of them catching it and spreading it are very low. But, since the vaccine is able to prevent you from getting covid them being vaccinated gives them protection. Technically you were exposed tho.

Those fully vaccinated can still get and spread COVID, but their symptoms are less as well as data indicated they shed the virus for much shorter times. Before people would get COVID and be sick for 2 weeks and she'd the virus for 2 weeks (hence the 14 day quarantine,  as it was 10 days incubation to symptoms and then 14 days sick and continuing to spread if you had it, early data indicated). With the vaccine I believe it's more around 2 or 3 days. Less severe symptoms, quick recovery, and you don't shed the virus for 2 whole weeks.
That being said, I'd still count you as potentially exposed and would have at least had your father wear a mask if not stay socially distant at least 5 to 10 days.

YES. Why is this news to so many people? I have the vaccine but I’m also aware that it doesn’t make me unable to get it or carry it to someone else. It’s to help my body fight it and lessen my symptoms in the hope I won’t be coughing and a mucus mess around others. It’s to help the impact it’s had on hospitals. With that said, I’m not as worried about being out and about and if someone who hasn’t had their vaccine and could get it at full strength is upset with me for being out and about...that’s not my issue.
