I work in OB and at my office we encourage people to just use weeks not months because each person assumes differently when it comes to months. 
But the way we do months if someone really wants to know is we count it as months completed. So since you’re 23 weeks we do 23/4= 5.75 months. So you’re 5 months pregnant (almost 6).

I always count from my LMP.  So like, my LMP was 12/18 so on 5/18 I’ll be 5 months which is 21+2.  9/18 is 9 months from the start of my pregnancy but due 9/25.  It all gets confusing though 😂
