Potty training advice

My son just turned 2 last week, and yesterday I decided to get his potty chair out and see how he did. He did REALLY well for his first time! He went pee on it twice and even pooped in the potty all on his own! Well this morning I tried to get it out but as soon as I took his diaper off he FREAKED out and wouldn’t stop until I put it back on. So what do I do in this case? I don’t want to force him and make him not want to use the potty at all but I know consistency is important when potty training. Should I just wait until he’s in a better mood and try agian? Any advice is appreciated!
