How much did you spend ?

Minus repurchasing the need items of course. I’m a first time Mom (22) and would just like to get the general rule of how much everything is, INCLUDING crib, car seat, stroller, to clothes and nursery necessities and feeding. I love to search on Facebook marketplace for things and bundles. Do you save more money by shopping online rather in store? I have a good idea of the things I need now. I know I want to buy a brand new car seat so any good recommendations? I was maybe thinking $1000 for everything ? but then again I may be in for a ride 🤣 I don’t mind getting used nursery furniture. Also I’m having 
 a girl❤️ any helpful tips would be appreciated

I bought this car seat stroller combo & I absolutely love it. I was a little iffy when purchasing it because it was so cheap but it is perfect!! (: my baby is 2 1/2 weeks & he loves it

Between everything we easily spent a few grand. We didnt expect to have to buy a new breast pump and replace parts (also buying a chest freezer to store milk) and constantly buy milk bags. But you could definitely stick to $1000 if thats what you set for yourself! We did a lot of second hand buying for clothes, toys, and some of the bigger items

Our car seat was about $275 -maxi cosi. LOVE them. We were in a horrible car accident with our baby a few years ago and she came out with only a few scratches on her arms, knees and forehead. Will forever use maxi cosi it literally saved out 9 month old
Stroller was about $200
We did a side car crib and was $475
Clothes-got a lot gifted and otherwise bought 2nd hand or granimals at walmart do maybe $200 foe the first 9-12 months. Can't say 100% as it was a long time ago lol. 
$300 for dresser which we used as a changing table.
$150-ish on bottles and breast feeding bras. 
$200 on a swing for napping
$75 for a carrier-I baby wore a lot.
General list for us at least.

You can get everything used except a car seat and crib. Babies don’t need a lot. Some clothes, a safe place to sleep, boob/bottles, and diapers. It just depends on what you want. If you had a strict $1,000 budget you could do it. But it certainly does add up when you purchase things for convenience like an infant swing, bath tub, baby carrier, stroller, sound machine, rocker not to mention things for the next phase like high chairs.

I planned to spend $2000 and spent about $2800.  That was buying a mix of new and used.  I also bought two strollers though as I wanted both a regular stroller and a jogger

Maybe $250 for a 4 in 1 crib. This was bought new at Walmart. Then roughly $200 for a cars eat ( the all in one carseat)  I would always buy a cars eat new. 
I would buy toiletries new and of course if you plan to do diapers those,are new. Cloth diapers you can find gently used. 
Then you can get pretty much anything else gently used.

These are just aprox prices since most of this was bought with my daughter 5 years ago 😅
Crib- on sale about 350$
Carseat- about 250 or so. We got the saftey 1st onboard 35 air
We got a stroller off marketplace for about 25$, swing for about 150$ or so, our high chair was gifted, breast pump was about 100$, bottles all together were probably about 80$, crib mattress about 60$, I got a glider off marketplace for 30$ I think thats all the bigger stuff

At this point I’m probably at about $2,500-$3,000 all told. I don’t need much else, just a few more clothes, and am cloth diapering so no monthly expense for that.
We also didn’t have a shower and haven’t gotten much for gifts so we’re buying most everything ourselves, which is fine.

Honestly I've had two kids prior and this is my third .
My fiance and I sat down and everything that we could think of will be 1000. That's not including clothes. But that's also because I chose a couple brands that I wanted to use before and didn't so I'm going to this time around. Shop around. Good luck.

I probably spent around $1000 maybe a little more. I had a friend that gave me a ton of stuff so that helped. I used to work at a once upon a child store so some gently used items don’t bother me. 
Some tips.  Make baby registries because a lot of places will give you coupons and extra discounts. I also got several sample boxes which was really helpful because I didn’t buy any pacifiers or bottles to start with because every box came with some. I had a huge variety to test and figure out what baby liked best. Shop sales everywhere. Target and walk especially will clearance a ton of stuff to make room for the newest version or different stock. I have a kohl’s card so I saved a lot on clothes by buying ahead and out of season.
