40+6 my sweet girl 🥰

May 6th at 11:53pm my baby girl Amelia finally was in my arms!

On May 4th my husband and I got really spicy wings for dinner as we love spicy food. A few hours later I started to get a bit crampy but didn't think too much of it since they would come and go inconsistently. May 5th I woke up at 5am chunks of bloody mucus plug and more cramping. For the rest of the day I lost more and more of it and my cramping got a lot stronger. Around 8pm I decided it was time to go to the hospital to go get checked and I was only 1-2cm dilated so they sent me home.

I did not sleep, my cramps (which I know now were contractions) were getting so painful and about 3 minutes apart for hours so we went back to the hospital at 5am May 6th. They checked me and I was 3-4cm but since they were too busy they sent me home and said if it gets worse to come back. 2 hours later I was screaming in pain at home so we went back again and I was 5cm so I was finally able to be admitted.

Unfortunately, they were still very busy and I had to wait hours for an epidural and the epidural only worked in my legs. I was stuck at 6-7cm for hours so they decided to break my water (with my consent of course). Holy shit did that make things go by fast. 30 minutes later and I was ready to push. I was pushing for 3hours (she was facing up) before they finally gave me an episiotomy. I felt everything and I still tore a tiny bit but she finally was out and on my chest.

Amelia Grace Genio was born 6lbs 14oz. I had never been in so much pain before and it was all worth it.
