Gallbladder removal while pregnant?

Hello! I’m almost 16 weeks pregnant and found out I have gallstones and that my gallbladder is super thick and irritated. My OB said we can try to wait until I give birth to remove it, but that I’ll most likely need it removed while I’m still pregnant. Has anyone had their gallbladder removed while pregnant? I’m not afraid of surgery, but I have heard the risk of preterm labor is higher. Just wanting to hear some stories in case I do need it removed.
