Does fraternal twins look alike?

I’m having fraternal twins and people keep telling me they won’t look alike & that I’m having a boy & girl since they’re fraternal. I’m not much educated on twins because I never cared to look into it, and I never thought I’d be having them lol

Identical = look a lot alike 
Sex doesn’t matter. Two girls can be fraternal or they can be identical.

Fraternal twins are two seperate eggs and two seperate sperm. Two different sets of dna. they can both be girls or both be boys or be one boy and a girl. They will most likely not look alike even if they are the same gender. They may look similar because they are siblings but prabably not look exactly the same. Identical twins are one egg and one sperm that split. So those look the same or pretty similar. I have identical twins. Boys. They look the same except one is slightly thinner and shorter. They look different to me but to most people they cant tell the difference 🤷🏻‍♀️

They definitely can look alike if they are the same sex. For example the olsen twins are fraternal twins not identical yet they look pretty darn close. So its possible.

They can be any gender, not necessarily a boy and girl. If you’re having di/di twins and they end up being the same gender, they might actually be identical. Apparently around a third of same-sex di/di twins are identical. Fraternal twins are just like any other siblings - they may look alike or they may not. Mine are quite different.
