Egg retrieval results & deciding 2 or 1

Rachel

We had a successful egg retrieval! 12 retrieved, 11 fertilized embryos, and 11 embryos are still viable after 24 hours.

We chose not to do genetic testing and have our fresh embryo transfer on Monday, after giving the embryos five days to develop.

We’ve tried to get pregnant for about four years, and I am 36 years old (almost 37). We have done seven medicated cycles and one IUI. I have PCOS as well.

I am very torn about whether to put two or one embryos in during this transfer. We had decided on two but then I did more research and I see a lot out there that implies that two doesn’t necessarily give you a better chance than one, and that there are a lot of risks with twin pregnancy.

Anyone else facing this decision? What have your thoughts and decision points been?
