Kitten Pooped Blood

Tiana

I got a new kitten and was told it was 8 weeks old. But after some looking up and videos, I’m not too sure. He’s still really tiny, he’s still got the baby blue eyes. And he’s just really tiny and he walks but not really well. Because of this I’ve been giving him paté kitten food and some water mixed it so it’s easier to lap up. The previous owner said that the kitten mostly ate its mother’s milk because she was there more, but that he could eat wet food. The first time he pooped it was like a tootsie roll, but when he pooped again after a few days, it was more mushy. I figured this was because of the food change. Then today he poops and it’s really oily and more like diarrhea but I just thought it was because of him getting use to the food or w.e. Well, I just changed his puppy pad and he pooped but there was a few drops of blood. TMI, the pic is gnarly. But I looked it up and saw that it could be caused by diet changes. I’m just asking pretty much if this is normal(I don’t think so) and if I he still needs to be bottle fed, or if he’s just getting use to this new food. Sorry ab the pic, it’s gross 🤢

Edit: I forgot to mention the food he eats. It’s made with real milk and I bought it thinking it’d be good for him but later realized cats can’t have cows milk and can cause diarrhea. Still, idk if that changes anything but he was perfectly fine before eating this. Like I said, tootsie roll poo and he was still nursing. Should I still be bottle feeding him??

Edit #2: thanks for everyone’s concern and I feel I need to make this edit. I’m well aware that planning isn’t the same as doing. I made this post very early, around 12-1am. I don’t know where y’all are, but where I live no vet or emergency vet was open at this time. Of course I checked the vet times. Of course I wanted to call and have him checked. Nothing was open. I got up at 7am and had to wait another hour to be able to call. During this time I went and got him kmr and went back and fed him. Once the vets opened I called. I spoke to two different people on the phone. I was told what to feed him and watch his poop and see for any changes. I was also told that since it was the first time he pooped blood that while it is cause for concern, I don’t need to bring him in immediately. She told me that if he continues to bleed, I should bring him in ASAP. But as of now, she told me to just monitor. Thanks for the concern but just because a vet may be open 24/7 for you, doesn’t mean it will be for everyone. I care very much about this little boy and he relies on me. I wouldn’t be irresponsible enough to at least call.
