Is getting back with your ex a bad idea?

I want answer from those who’ve actually done it.

Depends on why the relationship ended, age, where you are in life, tons of factors. I’m married to an “ex” I dated when I was young in my early teens.  Sometimes people come back together, maybe when you first dated it wasn’t the right timing or other things were going on, you were young, dumb, etc.

If ir was because they cheated definitely do not go back under any circumstances. If it was for a minor thing than yes work through it.

Never again, lesson learned, he was sleeping with half the town behind my back, liars, cheaters, manipulators, controlling, you name it I have been with it, I will never get back with any of my exes, I would rather have to chew off my leg to get it out of a bear trap and get with any of them ever again. Every single one was either abusive, cheater, or used me, either way no thanks to any of them. I was the dummy who stayed with a cheater, never again. ￼

Never worked out for me. Usually if it doesn’t work once, it’s for a reason and won’t again. But I’m sure some situations have worked.

It really depends. I got back with an ex after dating for a year and a half, broken up for 4 months and dated other people, then got back together. That was 7-8 years ago, and we’ve been married for 2 years, lived together for 5, have 1 baby boy that’s 7mo and another baby on the way. We just both needed to grow up a little on our own before getting back together.

My sister met a guy online. They dated a few months then he said i need a break and they seperated for a few months. It was afull break up no talking or anything. Then one day he called n said sorry i messed up n theyve been together for like 8-9 years. 
Personally i wouldnt becausei feel like you either break up for a problem or because someone grows out of the relationship so i just dont like the idea of that but depends on the situation i suppose
