Is gaining a total of 18lbs at 23 weeks bad?

We can’t really tell you if it’s bad or not but I imagine if your doctor isn’t happy about it, it’s probably because he’s concerned about your health. Only you and your doctor knows your health and only he can advise you on what’s healthy for you. 
I know if you are at a healthy weight before pregnancy then it’s usually recommended you gain between 25-35lbs total your entire pregnancy. If you are overweight they may advise less than that. If you are underweight they may advise over that.

I was 180 before pregnancy and now I’m at 245 and I’m 38 weeks. I think k the most I gained within a 2 week span was 12 pounds and they weren’t to happy with me but they said everything was fine!

I truly believe everyone is different. I absolutely hate the constant weight talk. At 20 weeks I had gained a total of 8 pounds with my twins. They literally made me see a dietitian and was on me about gaining weight. I was completely offended. I felt like I was treated like I didn’t eat. During my anatomy scan both my babies measured big. The scale doesn’t always matter. As long as your healthy and baby is I seriously wouldn’t worry about it. Everyone is SO different and every pregnancy is different.

i would take his advice only because of the complications that weight can bring if you gain too much and whatever other medical problems might arise from that IF even. i didn’t gain weight until 23 weeks ish but my eating habits were horrible so i don’t think it’s a lot to do with what you’re eating if you’re eating healthy because you can eat healthy and still gain a lot so try not to stress

That's close to where I was, I only gained 30-35 pounds total at the end which is right around the target

I was 180 when I got pregnant and was told by my doctor that they only wanted me to gain between 11-20 lbs my whole pregnancy because they said I was already overweight and at higher risk of gestational diabetes and preeclampsia although I never had either of those issues and I didn't gain over 20lbs my entire pregnancy ( I carried to the full 40 weeks) my doctor still bitched at me everytime my weight went up and it got to where I truly hated going to my appointments and being treated like I was doing something wrong when it's perfectly normal to gain weight during pregnancy she acted like I was overeating or eating badly when I threw up almost everytime I ate and my main craving was fruit and one of the few things I could keep down. Since you still have time if your doctor's attitude is bothering you get a new one it's important to have a doctor your comfortable with during pregnancy I wish I had changed doctors

It’s not the best but who cares lol I gained like 50 all my pregnancy’s. This pregnancy is the only one I’ve gained 1lb so far but I’m being careful becuse I have health reasons why I shouldint gain allot . But if I didint I wouldint even care how much

I don’t know why your doctor would be pissed, but only your doctor can tell you if it’s “bad” or not based on your health history. My doctor told me she likes to see less than 10lbs of weight gain at 20 weeks based on my pre pregnancy health. People in this app aren’t going to be able to answer this, as we are not your healthcare provider.
