Late period

Needing advice..

I never had a period this late and been TTC for 5 years..

I spotted for like 3 days it was light brown only when I wiped and it went away I had mild cramping and after that my boobs were sore and then that went away I’m thinking successful implantation?

I am now 8 days late from my period I don’t know exactly when I ovulated because I haven’t been tracking it I took a test and it said negative should I keep testing and wait?

How long was it when y’all had a positive?
