Is the ikea kitchen worth it??

Question

I find I keep buying toys hoping my daughter will have some fun while we’re in lockdown but I find she only ever likes them for a day. Would you say a play kitchen is worth it? Did your child actually get lots of use from one? My daughter is 18 months

Both my 18month old and my 3,5 year old love the IKEA play kitchen! But what I have had more success with is to be really good at rotating toys.

Give her some of your pots and pans with a wooden spoon. The usual household child safe items children find most fascinating 😊 in my opinion anyway. My daughter has alot of toys to chose from and she'll always chose the remote, woodeb spoon ect more joyful x

I think it is! We got a play kitchen (not the IKEA one, but very similar) to our then 1-year-old. She is now almost 2,5 years old and there probably hasn't been a day spent at home when she has not played with it. Occasionally she takes some of our kitchen utensils to play with it and she also had some of her own play fruits and little spoons there.
I also agree with the comment on rotating toys!

We don’t have the IKEA kitchen, but we did get our son a KidKraft kitchen when he was around 18mo. He just turned 3 and still plays with it nearly every day. It was one of the best big ticket items we’ve purchased for him.
