Thoughts on inducing? Need advice.

Hi ladies! FTM looking for some thoughts and opinions on the idea of inducing. I am 37 1/2 weeks pregnant, and have had really bad swelling since about 34 (feet, ankles, fingers = double carpal tunnel, and occasionally lower legs). My urine and BP has been good at all of my appointments. I monitor my BP at home and some nights it's been borderline aka just slightly elevated, but never truly high.

My last appointment my OB/GYN said they can induce as early as 39 weeks if Mom is just over it all. If not, they typically induce at 40 weeks if baby hasn't come yet. If mom insists on giving it more time the absolute farthest they'll go is 41 weeks before needing an induction.

My swelling seems to get worse every week. I already stopped working, so I make sure to get plenty of rest at home, drink water, and elevate throughout the day. I wake up every day now with my feet super stiff and swollen and already hurting. By the end of the day I can barely walk from how much pain they cause. I got crocs a whole size larger than my shoe size and can't even fit those anymore. The only shoe I can really wear right now are my husband's flip flops.

I originally liked the idea of inducing at 40 weeks just cause I'm scared of having a big baby if I go over. But now I'm starting to consider inducing at 39 weeks just due to the daily pain I'm in at this point. Is that selfish? What are your thoughts and opinions? If you were ever induced please tell me how it went for you! Thanks.
