Weird right?

Question

Why does my FIL encourage me and my husband to have sex ALL the time?? 
One time he was helping my husband fix our dresser and found our toys. He didn’t say anything but my husband had to move them. So he 100% could see them. No doubt he didn’t. He’s always offering to take the kids so we can “be alone together” in hotels and stuff. When I was in the hospital he wanted us to go shower together and “get the baby out the same way it was put in” while he was still in the room.. like why is this man so invested in our sex life.. some of the comments he makes. Just weird.
EDIT TO ANSWER A FEW THINGS: 
he’s in his early 40s so not really “old” 
I was still pregnant waiting to give birth in the hospital, he wanted us to go have sex to speed up the process

At first it just seemed like a well meaning parent who knows the importance of intimacy and keeping the spark alive, until the creepy shower comments. Then it seems like a creepy old man trying to live vicariously through his son and gets off to imagining you guys having sex in the shower. Also to be clear, he was saying to go shower together when you were in the hospital right after you had a baby?

My mom is the same way but she says that it’s just as important as getting my needs met as his & how sex is crucial in a relationship. Her sex life wasn’t great with my dad, so she doesn’t want me going through what we went through. We live with my parents & she has told me to not hold back on a moan lmfao 
Maybe your fil means well but is coming off as “creepy” & “weird”

It sounds like he wants more grandkids, and maybe wants to be his son's mate but clearly his jokes are not landing. 
What does your husband think? 
Does it also find it weird? Or is that "just the way dad jokes"? 
If he is just trying to make a joke then confronting him may make everything a bit weird. But if the comments continue to make you uncomfortable then you might have to say something. 
I hope he is just trying to be a supporting dad, maybe his son can tell him his dad jokes need a tuning.

This is weird. I would keep my distance and tell my husband I’m not tolerating that type of conversation from his father. BOUNDARIES, BOUNDARIES, BOUNDARIES. Who is he to tell you guys to be intimate to speed up the process of labor? Who is he to tell you to be intimate in the shower with your husband in the hospital when he’s in the room? Disgusting!
