I didn’t know I was pregnant…

I’m a young mama at 17. I’m sharing my story because I find it pretty crazy. So a little back story I’m an active person I’m in shape( play almost every sport because I’m still in school). I work at a locker making place so I’m constantly running around.

Track season has recently began and I’m a thrower. I throw both shot and disk plus run relays. First sport I’ve done all year due to me getting a new job. After the few first practices it’s expected to be sore for a little bit.

I it was Thursday may 6th that I was really feeling back pains after practice. I thought I had just pulled a muscle so I went home and took a warm bath which seemed to help the pain go away for a bit. Later went to bed that night because I had to be up for work the next day by 3:45 am.

Shortly after getting up the back pains were really bad. I was barely able to walk. Made me feel really sick as well. I thought I was getting the cold or something so I called out of work. I took some medicine and went back to sleep once I was comfortable. I slept until my parents had gotten home from work and shortly after woke up to tell my mom about my back pains. She had thought I had pulled a muscle as well. She said if the pains continued to get worse we’d go to the doctors. I agreed with her, so we waited. Throughout the day the pain progressively continued to get worse.

By 8:00 pm that night the pain was so bad I didn’t want to walk around. She said it was still there in the morning then we would go to the hospital. I said okay and took some more pain pills. I fell asleep until 11:20 and woke up crying because I couldn’t take the pain anymore. I went to my moms room and told her I couldn’t handle it. So we got ready to go to the hospital and left. It was around 12 in the morning when we finally arrived at the hospital and got checked in. At that point k was balling my eyes out because I was in so much pain.

The nurse came in and asked me if she could get a Urine sample and I said yes. So after I peed for her she gave me a muscle relaxer in my back to help with the pain. When the results came back she said I had w bad UTI and it also said I was pregnant. She had asked me if it was possible I said no she then they took blood and when those result came back then sent me up to OB for an ultrasound. I then saw my baby. I didn’t know if it was a boy or girl and wasn’t even concerned to what it was because I was in shock I didn’t know what to think besides I’m going to put this baby up for adoption. When they did a check on me to see how far I was, they said I was already 6 1/2 cm Along. And my baby would be coming soon. I had enough time to get epidural so I did which took away most of my pain. I was able to sleep.

I slept u til 10 am and that’s when they did another check on me. Then I was already 9cms. I had waited all day until they induced me at 2 pm that evening. They told me it would take about 15 minutes but took over an hour of pushing before she came at 3:55 pm May 8th. Once they put her in my arms I instantly fell in love and decided to keep her. Tomorrow she’s going to turn 3weeks and I’m so proud to be this little girls mama.
