Sucking on lips?

Anybody know why my sons lips look like this after nursing? He’s a week old and EBF. Is this a sign of a lip tie or is this normal? The spot in the middle on top is hard

It's called a nursing blister. Quite common. I used a little bit of lanolin on my boys and then it fixed itself.

It could be a sign of a tie. I would see a lactation consultant for assistance ❤️

Make sure baby’s lips are fishing out :) if they’re not able to at all, I would get them evaluated for a lip tie

My son use to get it the doctor said it was normal to turn white because the suction is tight so they will turn white but he did get a yeast infection at a week old and got nursing blisters
