Does the Dr or anesthesiologist ask out loud what medications you’re taking?

There will be a couple family members in the birth room with me when it’s time to delivery my baby and I don’t want them to know what medication I am on. When the doctors come in and when the anesthesiologist comes in for my epidural, do they openly ask out loud what meds I am taking or will they simply look at my file and stay quiet?

When you're about to get your epidural tell everyone to get the f out of your room lol. No one but your partner needs to be there for that.

Based on experience they will openly say it out loud. Before family arrives you can ask the nurses/doctors not to share that info out loud or have them written out so you can just hand them the paper instead of sharing out loud. When/if you get an epidural they usually have everyone leave the room, sometimes even your spouse.

They only allow one person in the room with you when I got my epidural. So yes the 1 person in the room with u will hear whatever u say or you can say you don’t want anyone in the room if you want

Your doctor should know about your meds.
I never got an epidural, so don't know on that from experience, but I know some hospitals won't even let a significant other in the room when getting an epidural, so I would just have everyone else leave during the procedure and then it won't be an issue (besides your significant other, if allowed to stay).

based on my personal experience at the hospital, they asked me what medication i’m on when i arrived the nurse asked, the doctor asked so i’m assuming the anesthesiologist will ask.  they all asked right in front of my significant other who was in the room with me, this wasn’t during my delivery since i haven’t delivered yet but i did have to check in at the hospital @ labor & delivery emergency room
