3 month old going to daycare?!!

Question

Im going to start working and i have to leave my baby who just turned 3 months at daycare. Im so scared i dont want my baby to miss me and cry alot. She already crys alot because she is such a collicky baby. I am so sad but i have to? Has anyone else gone through this? How old were your babies?😟

I did. It was really hard and the first few days just sucked…for me, that is. My son was totally fine. Didn’t fuss even a little bit. We picked a daycare that we felt really comfortable with and got to meet the teachers in advance. I immediately felt like they cared for my child and knew what they were doing. 
They recommended bringing him in for a partial day trial run prior to the real thing. I was hesitant because I didn’t want to be away from him any longer than I had to. They were so right, though. I spent those 4 hours bawling my eyes out, resisting the urge to run in and get him. I made it through, though and when I finally went in with my puffy, red eyes, he was perfectly chill and hanging out with the other babies. The first week was the hardest, but every day got a little easier. 
I don’t know if you’re nursing, but I ran over whenever I could during my lunch to nurse him and that really helped me with the transition. I was really lucky to have that flexibility in my work schedule and to be close enough that I could run over without anyone missing me.

My oldest has been in daycare since 12.5 weeks (took a few extra days off). He’s now 3. He’s never had an issue at daycare. He’s loved having friends. He knows I am his mom. He is excited to see me and his dad. 
My work has a daycare so I had him there for the first year so I could nurse him at lunch and say hi. That was super helpful. But after he turned 15 months he started with an in home daycare too far away to do that. We were both fine. 
My friends can’t get over how well adjusted he is. He’s the model student for his Sunday school class and he’s one of the youngest of the 3s!

Our son was 7mo and our daughter was 4 mo when they started. It was for sure harder on me than them. It was bittersweet because I love my career and I was happy to be back but also missed the snuggles (and time to do stuff around the house) a lot. But it was healthy for everyone. Our kids do so well in daycare and they learn so much. We use similar strategies and phrases for behaviors and have similar expectations of our kids, so it works really well. Since it’s summer break, our son (age 3) attends 4 days a week and our daughter (10mo) attends 2 days a week. She had a huge smile when we dropped her off after not being there for so long.
