Does/Did anyone else’s parent struggling with addicition ask them for money? How did you respond to it?

It’s never can I have it’s always can you loan me and she’ll never pay it back. I think that’s what irks me the most… 
It’s really hard… like it’s so frustrating. She so reliant on alcohol she will start shaking super bad if she doesn’t have a drink so it makes me feel bad but still it’s pisses me off. 
And then If I don’t give her something she will guilt trip me into next year.

It’s best to put your foot down and tell her no. You do not need to babysit your mother and she definitely needs to detox in a hospital because alcoholics can, will, and do die from withdrawal. 
My moms a prescription drug addict, so she never asks for money because she gets the pills for free/trades what she can. But she is extremely mentally unstable, and it breaks my heart at times when I’m rough on her, but I have to do it. I’m pregnant now and that by itself helps me be more strict.

Sadly, tough love. Distance yourself. The shakes won’t stop until she goes to detox and rehab, she’s in too deep. 
If she says # is for groceries then you say send me your list, I’ll order for pickup.

What does she normally “ask for money “ for … if she asks for money for food buy her food. If she asks for clothes buy her clothes but don’t give her a way to return it order it from Amazon or something. Let her know your there if she needs you but your not gonna support her addiction.
