Curious what you all think.

Wasn't sure where to post this but I'm wondering what you guys do when someone moves into your neighborhood. Do you go introduce yourself and welcome them to the neighborhood or do you feel like that's their job?

Me personally, I think as a neighbor I should go introduce myself and welcome them. When we moved into our first home, our neighbor came over with homemade bread and welcomed us. When we moved into our next home nobody came over or even waved at us when we saw them outside. We lived here for over a year before we finally met our neighbors.

We just had some people move in 2 doors down and I told my husband we should go say hi and welcome them to the neighborhood and he said why? Nobody introduced themselves to us. And I said yeah and I felt very awkward and unwelcome for over a year!

Just curious if there's some kind of unspoken rule lol nobody ever told me. I live in the U.S. by the way.
